One Day Desert Spirit

Spirit is best suited to a confident intermediate or advanced rider as he can be more of a forward and sensitive ride. He is not spooky, hot or dangerous and could be suited to a confident rider with less experience depending on the person.

Spirit is well broke in working equitation and dressage type movements. He knows all lateral movements (leg yield, half pass, shoulder in/out, haunches in/out, etc) in walk and trot and is working on lateral movements in the canter. Spirit has green changes but is developing quickly. He is started on working pirouettes, counter canter and has also started learning piaffe. He is very athletic and has a natural talent for upper level movements and is proving to be a great working equitation or pleasure dressage type horse.

He is very personable and thrives off a good horse/rider connection. He has shown at Level 2 Working Equitation in Armstrong BC July 2023 and seems to enjoy it.


Spirit is great to trailer, tie and trim. He is up to date on deworming and feet and is very passive in a herd setting. He is the same horse whether he is at home or trailered out.

He is sound, currently barefoot and can be ridden in a snaffle, curb or double bridle. In his earlier years he had been trail ridden frequently and is brave on the trails. He has been in training and ridden consistently since August 2022 in a classical dressage type style.

The ideal home for Spirit would be somebody who values a horse and rider partnership and who is looking for a unique and personable best friend. He is very talented and could go far with the right person. He could be suited to an amateur teen or adult as well.
