Horses for Sale
There is so much that goes into making a good horse. A never ending commitment to learn: from my Teachers, from the Horses. Putting the skill to work. Day after day. Despite the heat, the cold. Early mornings. Late nights. Bit by bit. Nothing to please the spectators. Helping the horses find their balance, the understanding. Never any gadgets, shortcuts or making it look like something that it isn't. It takes the time it takes. My horses mean a lot to me. Some I raised, some show up because they need me. I don't pick "good prospects". I often take on a challenge, a horse broken by other training methods. Sometimes I am a last chance for the animal.  My clients mean a lot to me. I want it to be a great partnership. Great partnerships are not necessarily all smooth, there's often a need for growth - from both horse and human... It's an amazing process, watching the horses pick their person - I have learned to trust, to let the feeling between the horse and rider answer the question: "is this the right match?"
The Program
It begins with Leadership * the understanding of how to get along with people, learning how to learn, the boundaries and expectations... Groundwork, basic Liberty, dealing with pressure, learning focus and courage and thinking * In hand work, flexions, understanding vertical balance, symmetry. * Fitness, exposure - leading on trails - off the ATV or another horse. Fast and slow. Trailering, tieing * Riding basic foundation - walk trot canter understanding go/stop/turn, lateral work, precision, corners. leaving the head alone for the horse to find his balance. Always seeking the lightness, self carriage. I want confident, balanced horses - working off my seat.

My horses are not pampered
They have bug bites, horse bites and muddy feet. Their manes are tangled and their eyes are bright. They live outside, they get rained and snowed on, they work hard. My foundation training makes for useful, safe horses - without diminishing their spirit.
