There is so much that goes into making a good horse.

A never ending commitment to learn: from my Teachers, from the Horses.

Putting the skill to work. Day after day. Despite the heat, the cold. Early mornings. Late nights. Bit by bit. Nothing to please the spectators.

Helping the horses find their balance, the understanding.

Never any gadgets, shortcuts or making it look like something that it isn't.

 

It takes the time it takes. 

My horses mean a lot to me.

Some I raised, some show up because they need me.

I don't pick "good prospects". I often take on a challenge, a horse broken by other training methods. Sometimes I am a last chance for the animal.

My clients mean a lot to me. 

I want it to be a great partnership. Great partnerships are not necessarily all smooth, there's often a need for growth - from both horse and human...

It's an amazing process, watching the horses pick their person

- I have learned to trust, to let the feeling between the horse and rider answer the question: "is this the right match?"
